“Hugging you” – Vinyl design + 3D model
This vinyl is a personal project that, just like the book, was produced as a gift for my partner. The illustration on the front cover is part of my “Hugging you” illustrated book and the back cover was produced exclusively for this project.The vinyl’s red color matches the thread that circles/embraces/hugs the record’s cover (back and front) design. This was produced for a duration of 10 minutes on each side, in a total of 6 songs (3 on each side). These 6 songs mean to represent some of our favorite songs along our 6-year relationship so far. Each of these songs, instead of mentioned in the form of text, are illustrated images, illustrating either the title of the song (all except the second song) or the artist/band that produced it. The dragon (second song – side A), for instance, is the only other element that was also first produced for the illustrated book “Hugging you” and appears here to illustrate one song from Imagine Dragons. After I designed this project, I ordered it as a maxi 45 rotation and translucent red vinyl. I also decided to produce a 3D model of the vinyl’s record cover design in blender 3D, with a turnaround animation of it.
